We will be moving. Many local businesses will have to find a new physical location during this year, due to the Virginia Department of Transportation’s (VDOT) road improvement project involving Route 29 and Gallerher Road. Unfortunately, our building is in the pathway of this project. Phase One of the project is the total acquisition of businesses along the Rt. 29 corridor immediately north and south of Gallerher Road. These businesses will be vacated by the end of April. Phase Two is other various total landowner acquisitions in our immediate area and is currently underway. Phase Three is partial landowner property acquisitions and this is the phase that will impact us. Our building and the green one directly next door must be sacrificed for a temporary road while Gallerher Road (to become Rt. 55) is rebuilt, including a bridge over the railroad tracks. We have been in direct contact with VDOT and our Landlord over this past year for guesstimates as to when our building will be condemned, and thus our need to vacate. Needless to say, the road project is a monumental one and as much as VDOT wants to expedite the project for obvious traffic issues, lucky for us, it just simply is not moving forward as quickly. In fact, originally they told us it could be this past winter. Their current guess is now Summer 2008 or later. (We suspect we will be celebrating Thanksgiving in a new facility.) So, where will we be going?? Not far!! Our Landlord is proposing to relocate us on the property within this business park (perhaps a new building). We have sought other options as well in the immediate area. We are unfortunately caught in a “hurry and wait” game. We want to assure all of our clients that as we deal with this “bump in the road”, we will continue to serve our clients and patients with the highest quality service that they have grown accustomed to. We will strive to make the transition as painless and efficient as possible. Please feel free to contact us to ask for updates as time moves forward. (We will try to post current information here as well.) Thank-you in advance for your patience, understanding and support. |
